Tap into a Richer Gratitude Practice
You hear people talk a lot about the power of gratitude and what it can do in our lives.
Whether it’s mental health experts, spiritual leaders, or even wellness gurus, they all point to the importance of making gratitude a regular practice.
A “Harvard Health Publishing” article reports: “Recent research has pointed to gratitude’s myriad positive health effects, including greater emotional and social well-being, better sleep quality, lower depression risks, and favorable markers of cardiovascular health. Now, new data from the long-term Nurses’ Health Study shows that it may extend lives.”
As if that’s not enough, Research.com cites 35 scientific benefits of gratitude, including a stronger immune system, better pain tolerance, and improved resilience.
But I think if you’re like me, it doesn’t take experts to convince us that gratitude can make a difference.
Gratitude Can Transform Our Lives

Emron with the people he’s most grateful for – Taylor, Harmony, Ethan, and Emily
I feel its power in my own life every time I reflect on what I’m grateful for.
When I pray and offer thanks for my blessings, I feel humbled and closer to God.
When I express appreciation to my wife, kids, team at work, friends, etc., we feel a better connection.
All that said…I know I could tap into the power of gratitude even more.
And luckily for me (and for you!), there’s a tool that can help us do that: The Gratitude Amplifier.
Amplify Your Gratitude on 3 Levels
The thing I appreciate about this tool is that it goes beyond asking you to simply think of something you’re grateful for. It challenges you to approach gratitude on 3 levels:
- Identifying WHAT you’re grateful for
- Examining WHY you’re grateful for it
- Planning HOW you can amplify that gratitude to pay it forward in some meaningful way
My Top 3
While I’ve used the tool many times, every time I revisit it, I discover a deeper level of gratitude.
I recently filled it out again for a webinar I was preparing for, and I could feel my heart expanding as I focused on 3 things I was grateful for:
- God
- My wife, Harmony
- My three children: Ethan, Taylor, and Emily
Within about 20 minutes, not only did I experience a heightened sense of appreciation, but I had a clear plan for how I was going to amplify that gratitude for each of them.
That was back in February, and it has since spurred me to do better at showing my appreciation, which has brought us all closer.
Keep in mind The Gratitude Amplifier is an easy, high-impact tool your entire family can use while on Family Retreats With a Purpose, at Thanksgiving, or other special times of the year.
I’ve led my family through The Gratitude Amplifier before, and you can bet we’ll be using it again soon, especially as we prepare for some big shifts in our family dynamic: Ethan is graduating from high school this spring and will be heading out on a two-year religious mission to Guatemala later this year.
As great as Ethan’s new ventures will be for him, I’m anticipating it will cause a sense of loss for the rest of us. We’ll need a bit of gratitude to get through missing his energy and light around the house.
Because gratitude can soften life’s edges, deepen connections, give us hope to keep going through hard times, and help us feel better in multiple ways.
I’m eager for your family to have an even richer experience with gratitude.
I hope you take advantage of tools like The Gratitude Amplifier, as well as others like The Appreciation Accelerator and The Negative Experience Transformer.
